La Colours - StarGaze Palette in Make out

So I've not heard much about La Colours until my friend and makeup "soul buddy" told me about them. She had recently tried some of the palettes and said the pigment and texture was amazing for an affordable brand. So I thought lets go back to being budget conscious and check out some makeup when you want a treat, but need to watch the purse. So the palette has 16 rectangular pans of colour with metallic shades being most prominent. This palette is called the Star-gaze and I know there is a neutral palette doing the rounds on YouTube.

There ethos is -

Our research & development team continues to expand the line with innovative products, brought to you in trendsetting colors and styles. By expanding the L.A. COLORS® line we continue to add strength and dignity to the L.A. COLORS® brand. At the same time, the marketing department works side by side with management to keep pricing low and quality high, therefore, maintaining excellent customer satisfaction.

COLORS® have been making superior cosmetics establishing a name in beauty industries all around the world. We look forward to serving you at all levels of commerce in the near future.

So when you open it the colours are embossed with little diamonds. It comes with a sponge applicator and they look like amazing colours on first impression. Apparently there are 3 in this range, this being Make-out then there is Admire and Contemplate. I would also love the block palette in Design.

Now what I didn't expect was how soft these shadows are as I nearly took a chunk out of the top left blue one, when attempting swatches. This took a little run of my finger to get this payoff and its so butter to the texture that I was in shock. As you can see above the colour is very pigmented and shows true to pan . There is alot of golden and bronze tones to help add a little hint of zing to that daily look you may have. Just a dab of this and your good to go. It also blends like a dream. They are very shimmery and some shades because of the texture being so soft can fallout a little. I found a little fan brush just took that away or tape to catch the little fallout. Also if you do press too hard then some chalkiness may happen, but now I'm used to the pressure needed thats not an issue no more.

This palettes colours will not make you look disco at all and the glitter is kept to the blending you do and also with a good primer will stay as well. I'm so very impressed with these shadows that if you come across a palette in your travels, swatch that particular one and see if the pigment payoff is as good.  I've heard a few can be hit and miss so this Is why I say try before if you can. But the Star-Gazer defiantly gets a thumbs up in my book and has been used a lot in my looks this week. So keep an eye out for it. It will be listed in my what i use lists and will show the true pigments and blend ability.

Have you seen La Colors or used any of there products ?

Summer essentials

So summer is finally here (touch-wood) and whilst i spent last week hooked to a drip i had my essentials in my bag with me and well i will show you what i will be taking with my in hospital during my surgery. As while yes i wont be doing makeup as i know i wont have hands free to hold a brush or rub in foundation i will have essentials with me.
So my makeup babies will have to stay home without me :O(

So my first essential is my personal made bag that i adore and she comes with me everywhere now.
She is always packed with my iPhone, cosmetic bag with girls essentials, clothes and just boredom killers. In my case thats books, puzzles and iPhone check-ins with Facebook and twitter.

Second essentials for summer are defiantly books, lip-balm and colour .
I love to read historical books, lip balms as i get such dry lips and colour of summer just makes everyone so happy and the moods lifted so high. The heat might not be for everyone but just enjoy with what ever you can and family BBQ's where possible.

Summer calls for a bit of colour to my iphone 4s so i jazzed them up with these bird cute earphones for when I'm out and cannot wear earrings. These certainly make a talking point when I'm on my way to my appointments.

So enjoy the summer everyone and the beauty of London.

NARS - Christina Lipstick with Bourgaville Lipgloss plus NARS babies awww

So my NARS love was no helped this month with the offer they had on, which was to purchase and then receive two sweet NARS babies. When i say babies i do as they are cute and mini - sample sized Orgasm and Laguna. I personally think these will last me a while as i have these 2 in the happening palette i purchased last month. This is a massive perk as i have 2 final product i want to add then i will be going on a spending ban for the rest of the year as i feel i should dive into what i have and be thankful plus use it.
I want to fully use products so i can review what i have in my collection and blog about them here, that is because they are mostly drug store essentials we all use but if your having a short month and in desperate need then i would like to know what i can access for little money rather then the high end i will use when I'm wanting to really cheer myself up.

So my NARS arrived as always in black tissue paper but to my utter joy i also received a black baggy with the samples. Now this bag is just lovely and i really appreciate the attention to detail and a added place to protect my NARS. Now you may ask the packaging doesn't it annoy you ? Well no is the honest answer as i keep my makeup in there boxes to preserve the packaging of them all more. It may sound really odd and just freaky but i also think if i ever decided "oh dear i don't want this anymore" then i can pass this onto a friend with the full packaging. (Not that i mind if I'm gifted anything without a packet)  So im waffling now and you want to know what i recieved.

So i decided to purchase the Christina lipstick which in the tube looks a sort of bronze-brown russet with hints of gold within it. It is the most deceiving lipstick I've come across as i looked at swatches before purchasing and i would advise anyone whom is thinking of purchasing a NARS lipstick to search and do your homework as to the final colour. So your not disappointed.

So as you can see in the swatch the colour when it on skin is so much more pinker plus it has the gold shimmer, making it more on the side of a deep rose gold then a bronze. Also the lipgloss i chose was in the limited edition a while back and they brought it back as a vintage. The bourgaville colour is a deep blackberry colour almost and i know people don't like the smell of NARS lipgloss as they are like plastic but i cant say i noticed nor minded. The consistency was defiantly easy to apply to the lip and not sticky on the lips at all, as even though i liked the colour. I was defiantly worried that it would be sticky, as i really love it. I did find though i had to apply quite a bit to achieve that colour above on the whole lip but i think i made the mistake of not adding a base colour for it to adhere too. So i will defiantly be using a similar colour to enhance this look.

So my overall experience is still so amazing with NARS. I am happy that you receive a gift with each purchase as samples are not given so you can try something of a decent size and get a good indication if you like it. Plus the mini sample palettes are so adorable and usable in your bag, to take with you during the day. I really will be keeping my eye out for more of these mini samples and if more are being released then i will save my pennies for them.

Do you have any NARS ? What would you purchase ?

Where have i been ?

Many of us use makeup as we have a passion or or it is nessesity of our daily life. For me it is a mixture of things. It is one of those ...
