So beauty box time and with the turning of the seasons we are all in waiting to the coming of our spring and summer looks and dust off these winter colours.
So city chic is the theme to this month box, so we have heavy duty products to get you from boardroom to barstool. Now as an extra to the city chic theme there is a cute little travelling book, which has a run- down of the most cosmopolitain of cities and a sheet of stickers.
So with the usual box in all its dusky pink loveliness, black packaging
The contents
So the contents of the box
- Elizabeth Arden - Eight hour skin protectant - 7ml sample size
- Nails inc - Bruton street - 4ml sample size
- L'occitaine - Immortelle Precious cream - 15ml sample size
- Jelly pong pong - Lip blush - Full size lip chubby
- Tresemme - Salon finish extra hold Hairspray - 100ml sample size
So on first glance im really happy with this box, i love the Elizabeth arden and Loccitaine brands. The sample sizes are really generous and its all products i would use. So lets go through them one by one shall we.
Elizabeth Arden
So the Elizabeth Arden, 8hr fragrance free gel like balm. Its a lovely light translucent pink colour and rubs into the skin really well. Its been a beauty editors favourite for 7 years as says the information in the leaflet and you can see why. Its not harsh nor does it have a sticky feeling as you can get with some balms which can have a tendency to sit on the skin rather then absorb in so this was lovely and the 7ml size is enough so i can take it in my handbag to appointments. Good all round balm that can be used on the hands, lips and any dry patches. So really impressed.
Nails Inc
Nails inc in Bruton street is a really lovely colour i will defiantly use and its a lovely change to the winter reds that I've been using. Its like a dusky pink and the consistency is really easy to apply plus it also goes on really evenly. Dries quite quickly and the standard of Nails inc which I've always found to be really high, however i will not pay £11 for a nail polish so this mini sizes are perfect. Also the only thing i find a bit off about nails inc polish is its really potent smell of chemical. Now this doesn't last but paint your nails in a well ventilated room.
Jelly pong pong
Now i know the jelly pong pong brand and have some of the range, i must admit i have a few lip chubby in red but im always on the look for quality lip products as with spring you want blush of colours and sometimes not a full lipstick coverage. Now there is one thing i have noticed with these chubbies on looking at a lot of reviews and thats the product can fall out and if the lid wasn't there i would loose it. So just be aware if you do have these that it could happen. It seems to happen when its colder and when it warms it doesn't happen so much.
The pigment is really good on this lip blush, i literally used a little application then pursed my lips and let the product melt and spread before i touched up as with these its easy to apply more then needed. With reds if you apply a lot they can be hard to fix if applying to much as i would find that they stain. So that would be a tip to chubbies, little to stain then go back to touch up. Happy this is a full size product and its a twist up, so overall very impressed.
Tresemme
Tresemme is a brand i know well from salon collections to being available in all retailers of your essential products. Feels like a really full long lasting product and with it being a strong hold hairspray it will last me a long time as i don't use much hairspray on my hair. So to volumise it will be fabulous and i love the size of the bottle as i find the massive bottles so cumbersome, i have tiny hands and when i style my hair i like to have a hand free to position the hair where i want it. So I'm so glad this is a travel bottle. I look forward to using this product.
L'occitane
The imortelle precious is a cream i have used before and i love the Loccitane range. The little glass 15ml sample is lovely and i find it rich and luxurious. Lightly fragranced and absorbs well into the skin, however the tip that is enclosed on the sheet is to cleanse and tone before using this cream.
So all in all i really love my glossybox, its full of brands i love plus will use. Generous sizes and well thought out. I will enjoy using all these products in my looks week plus my empties post as i can see these being included as must have favs, especially the Loccitane and Elizabeth Arden.
