How You Can Help

Look Good Feel Better would not be able to operate without the help of our volunteers, fundraisers and supporters. With an ever increasing demand for our services, we are constantly looking for more people to help run our Workshops and Masterclasses as well as raising money and awareness. Free confidence boosting skincare and make-up Workshops and Masterclasses are held across the UK for women undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. Led by LGFB Beauty Volunteers, the sessions are an opportunity to meet others in a similar situation whilst being taught vital skills such as how to draw on missing eyebrows and eyelashes. We’ve also created lots of online tutorials for those who are unable to attend one of our sessions or who would like some extra advice.

These brushes are soft well made for use and comfort. As well as the set which comes with a foundation, powder and eyeshadow there is a case included. Which makes this perfect for travel also to do touch ups or if your in a rush and require a light set.  This defiantly is a set of brushes I will support in light of the quality but also the strength of the cause. Having spent a lot of time sick in hospital it seems that the power of makeup is truly real. I loved to make this part of my daily routine with helping to effectively take my mind off the pain also. I was often asked about products and brushes I use plus teaching application of makeup and eyeshadows in particular. This is all whilst using these brushes (and others as I do extensive looks) so many people could see and feel the quality of the brushes with also me saying the cause.

My honest review of the Nail sets 

These nails are the stick on back ones that impress have released previously and I have loved them, unfortunately these nails did come off quicker then I expected them too. I would on the next application add a nail glue so the nails lasted a longer duration. I loved the design and the overall presentation of each design with the "Love" in calligraphy writing to be my favourite. 

I would love if the impress sets would come with the nail glue also so anyone whom is doing heavier duties wont loose the nails so easily. However in some cases I have noticed that some people have used the nails and had no issue. It is my personal opinion but I do feel that the sets would be miles better with the nail glue included as it lasts for a longer time period on my nail and I feel more fabulous when my nails look manicured with a design.

When an Icon such as Joan collins releases a makeup line, you sit up and take notice. This iconic woman has seen hollywood through the golden era, plus know what wonder's makeup can achieve. So i jumped at the given the opportunity to review her new foundation and compact's.

The compact is a beautifully presented product with an art deco feel to it. the powder inside is also paired with a lipstick. The powder feels very buttery and smooth to the touch and blends easily. The powder on my skin does blend in very well but it can show up a pink shade in the light so I would colour match the powder to your skin and see if the skin response works for you. Within the compact there is a mirror which is good for touch ups but is very small for checking your whole face. The lipstick colour called "Sabina" is a rich red with a moisturising formula. 

The lipstick is creamy and applies smoothly, it defiantly needs blotting if your thinking of going for drinks or any social event as I found it does transfer. It does maintain its rich pigmented formula that does hold up and stay when on the lips. I found the lipstick to be moisturising but defiantly use a lip scrub before hand if you have dry lips as with any red lipstick it will show up. I loved the formula of the lipstick and the powder inside this stylish compact. 

It works well with a smoky eye to give a vampy feel to a look or can be used with a less smoky eye for a more chic and elegant styling. Either was it was a pleasure to use and was defiantly more of a touch up compact for your handbag with the sizing of the mirror and the powder inside. Also the powder is most definitely for light use touch ups and not coverage for any makeup that slides or comes of during a night out. Overall I would use this compact for daily touch ups with my regular makeup, which does seem a shame given that the compact is so beautifully designed, however if your just needing the lipstick for a night out then the compact will be a lovely addition to assist those touch ups. Overall I really love the styling that Joan Collins has gone for, it reminds me of old Hollywood and the collection has a beautiful vintage yet modern day feel to its design.

To add beauty back to your nails, celebrity manicurist and Essie Global Lead Educator, Rita Remark gives her tips:

1. Moisturise with a rich cuticle oil to keep them in tip top shape, perfectly framing your nails for colour

2. You would never moisturise without cleansing first so treat your nails the same way you treat your skin. Cleanse thoroughly with polish remover before applying any treatment or colour.

3. Never use a base coat  – it should be applied directly on the nail to provide optimal benefits.

4. Apply in long, straight brush strokes, place the brush near the cuticle and pull to the tip, then fill in with a stroke each side. The brush makes application a breeze.

5. TREAT LOVE & COLOUR is a one-step formula, so there’s no need for a top coat. Enjoy your instantly perfected nails.

This formula from Essie is universal to any look you may want to achieve. Using as a base coat if you so wish with the lighter shades to protect and strengthen the nail. I had very weak nails very prone to "side catching" then loosing any nail I had grown  as Id have to file them to save any progress. Its why I often used acrylic nails which are not the best for already weak nails. Having used the palest shaded  polish for over 2 weeks, my nails have hardened and grown and they continue to be at the length they are at with no side catching incidents. 

I love that some shades have a glittery tinge, so that the light catches correctly and it gives an impression of length. You still have the option with giving your nails healthy growth, yet also jazz up your daily look. These shades are fantastic and my nails have never been this strong.

I have come to know and see Lola makeup by pearse product's via there social media and often within beauty boxes. I will still as always give full and honest reviews to each product. 

Blusher mono

Add colour to your cheeks with this soft and creamy powder that gives a velvet finish with excellent adhesion to the skin.

Micronised pigments allow you to build long-lasting colour and there is a range of shades to choose from, depending on your skin tone or the time of year. From pink to peach and warm corals, there’s a rosy cheek glow for everyone.

To use: Apply over setting powder for ease of blending or directly onto nude skin using the LOLA Blush Brush for a radiant and natural look.

This blush is very pigmented, also soft and easy to blend finely milled powder. It doesn't kick up when loading your brush so I'm not loosing any product when using  my blush. I love this shade as its subtle but gives a radiant glow. 

INTENSE COLOUR LIPSTICK

This rich full coverage lipstick glides on effortlessly to give full, seductive colour in just one stroke. Ultra-rich pigments offer maximum colour impact with a sophisticated lustre and a glossy finish. The creamy texture is enriched with antioxidants and nourishing plant extracts, Vitamin C, Mango Seed Butter & Vitamin E while peptides and Hyaluronic Acid work to visibly plump, smooth, condition and volumise.

To use: Apply colour directly to the lips. Use the LOLA Lip Brush for added control and a more professional finish.

Lipstick for me can be hit or miss especially with nude shades. I was kindly sent a red with a slight undertone of raspberry. Its a rich and creamy so i would strongly recommend using a clear or similar coloured lip liner. Its a beautifully pigmented, creamy long lasting formula. 

DUO KAJAL + EYELINER

The LOLA Duo Kajal + Eyeliner combines two amazing eyeliners in one handy pen. At one end an intense black Kajal and in the other, a precise liquid eyeliner in marker pen form. It’s easy to apply, dries in seconds and stays put for up to 12 hours. The intense black liner is also waterproof, crease-proof and ophthalmologist tested.

To use: Apply a thin line close to the eyelashes or draw a thicker line flicking up at the end for a more dramatic look.

The duo kohl and eyeliner i must admit first a little wary, as I've tried similar idea's from other brands. So I firstly tried the liquid liner side which is ultra pigmented, does not flake nor bleed out of the corner eye area. It gave me good control and i felt my grip was more sturdy then a smaller liquid liner pen.

The kohl side again is a sharp tip and winds up to looking like a chubby pencil, its blended amazingly for an impressive smokey eyes look.

I have loved the Blusher and the radiant glow it gives me upon application, its a definite favourite and I cannot wait to purchase more shade's. The lipstick is beautifully creamy and highly pigmented and is a stunning colour. I loved this formula of lipstick and am looking forward to seeing the other shade's available. Now whilst the Duo Kajal & Eyeliner is a thicker "pen" to hold but it does give a feeling of better control. It is pigmented and does give me a quicker flick on my cat eyes and my waterline also needed a few strokes due to the kajal being soft and easy to apply. I would also use the Kajal as a liner for my upper lid and then smoke this out when doing my smokey eye looks. So my first impressions are that I'm very impressed with the Lola Makeup. I cannot await my second review and also showcasing more looks using these Lola products.  

Dorco Eve - Razor review

I have too admit that Im excited to try the Dorco Eve razor (being released to the UK). After reading the website to read more on company ethos, ordering of replacement blades etc. They also offer a subscription service to anyone who want a quality razor with replacement blades wrapped for travel. I'm really excited to try this razor and what sets it apart from other brands.

Review of the Dorco 

My initial impression of the packaging was that the Tiffany green/blue shade was an excellent choice. It immediately sets to thinking luxury and quality of the product being presented. Upon opening you are met with a thank you card from the company and instructions for your new razor. There are two blades included which are packaged within an encased plastic safety box. (As the picture demonstrates). Attachment of the handle to the blade is a simple motion and it feels sturdy plus safe to use. 

                                

On initial use of the Dorco, it felt smooth and glided along my leg giving me a close and impressive shave. The more I used the Dorco I felt that it gave me confidence plus a close shave upon use. I was passed on two other razors, these I gave to close family members to see if their opinion was the same or variable. After using for a month, I engaged with my family upon they're views of the Dorco, they both asked where they could purchase more blades or the razor itself. It gave them a close shave but without the rash after they'd normally experience. I definitely will be using Dorco from now on and also looking into the subscription service for the blades and replacement handles as and when needed. I'm really surprised as shaving would leave me itching, red visible rash plus the regrow would be back within days.

I love The Body shop products and some of my favourite's have been from the makeup range. I had my first makeup consultation there when I was younger (many moon's ago). So i am very excited and grateful too The Body Shop for allowing me to trial a new eyeshadow palette.

Palette & Shadow's

The palette is a sleek and well set out with 4 cohesive shadows that blend well together. Soft and buttery in texture these eyeshadows need a good primer, so they last longer.

Overall view

I attempted the first two looks on the box card and found that the pink shade on the first look to be a very pale, much lighter colour then appearing within the pan. This first look is a very clean look for daily wear, using the darkest shadow used for an eyeliner. The second look I achieved by using the colours mentioned and some glitter pigment on the lid. I used a glitter to emphasise the grey shades more. These suggested look's are a really handy tool, as they show what can be achieved with that set of colours and plus where to place and blend each shade. 

I absolutely love the texture of the shadows with there creamy, buttery feeling. They are easy to apply and are pigmented when swatched. I found it very versitile with the new push out palette, I can swap and change out colour's as I wish. It made me realise that I only require four shades to complete my daily look. I would love to try the other quads available and see how the colour's compare and look's that can be achieved. Im very impressed with the "Grey" quad and how the shadow's have performed. They blend well and have great pigmentation also.
