HD brows Kit - In foxy for brunettes

HD brows well known for its treatments at spas and salons to maintain eyebrow care. They released a selection of products but the one that is well known is the brow kit. Now I'm a brunette so the Foxy kit is my shades, they have kits for blondes and especially dark hair.

They say
For super-sharp salon brows - our Eye&Brow Palette makes it easy to maintain that freshly groomed look. The long-lasting, anti-smudge powders stay in place all day to keep your brows perfect.

Includes a versatile brush, a nude and carbon shadow and two brown tone powders – everything you need for perfect brows.

‘Bombshell’ is best for fair hair and skin.
‘Vamp’ is best for medium hair and skin.
‘Foxy’ is best for dark hair and skin.

So the kit is very impressive packaging being black with a gold embossed "HD brows" logo and the kit you have. So once opened the top of the compact has a paper and plastic covering to prevent scratches and damage.
Now for a kit I am aware there are cheaper and more budget friendly kits, which I'm all for and have used for quite a while thinking "Brow kit, all the same thing... Right". Rarely do I admit I'm wrong and certain items I think, yes you need to spend more to get quality. I'm not rolling in money and save. Now honestly this is pigmented as brow powder in my opinion should be with all the blending for a natural effect. However the one thing (of a few) that made me go wow, was the lack of throw up from my angled brush. The brush in this kit is ok for a kit brush and I would use it, again another point. Unless I was out from morning till night I would not need too. My brows were on point for hours.

That's something I've not had in a brow kit, I've always had to touch up and yes they last ages as well you only need so much powder on a brow.
I've tried powders, pens, pencils, tints and nothings I've felt comfortable with other then my brush and powder kit. This does retail at what some people perceive as expensive but honestly. The colour mix is more to my shade and I compared that alot of kits come reddish undertones
for brunettes. This doesn't and it was so natural everyone was like wow, before it was a 15 minute job to fluff and colour right to blend etc. Now not even 5 minutes, plus the tweezers included are I think amazing. Some women don't like sharp tweezers however I do as I get really small hairs just a few millimetres above my crease so they need to be a point for me to remove. They don't hurt and I've found it useful when you notice a hair to have a mini set and just remove it.

I'm so impressed with this kit. I would purchase this again. As its lasting power as well as just sheer value for the use you will receive is second to none. Amazing quality product if you cannot use HD Brows salon to hand.

Cresty Brows and Mascara set - IMATs contributor

So with IMATS upon us I thought I would see if I could review some brands showing there this weekend. So my posts are going to mostly be makeup inspired this next two weeks to hopefully preview what is going to been shown. Now Cresty cosmetics are not known to me and I did notice that the majority of IMATS companies showing are USA or European based. Cresty being based in the Netherlands are showcasing a variety of products.
Cresty is distributed by Perfect Products .

Cresty says

Our productline contains popular beauty products and are made with quality in mind.

They kindly sent me samples of the eyebrow kits they offer and mascara with an additional double ended brush.

Now the eyebrow kit contains a Brow powder with brush and stencils included. It's simple and basic packaging which I like as it serves the purpose without being wasteful. I would have liked more of a case to contain the stencils and kit in one place so its not lost in a makeup kit. Also with double ended brushes you need a case to maintain the brush better I feel. The powder is dark brown and the stencils are labelled to the style wanted.

Now I found the stencils brilliant and really useful for a makeup kit, I have gotten used to doing my own freehand now so I don't use them however I may to show the difference in what each offers as a individual look.
The brushes unfortunately were not of a high quality, the one in the kit was like a fluffy brush and not stiff enough for my liking when doing brows. I prefer a sharp angled sturdy dense brush to do a firm line. Now the brushes included sheded before I even washed them. The only side that didn't was the angled side.

I found the powder up close was a deep brown but on the blending and application it was very brown and then had a tinge of auburn/red to it. Now I don't have any red in my hair so I needed to apply a little more then normal so it seemed more browner then reddish. The powder is very creamy and easy to apply and blend. I was really happy with this powder an will continue to use this happily.s

Now I tried the mascara and cannot say I was impressed, it is extremely wet without actually applying onto the lashes. So I was a little confused as the tube top was so clogged with mascara that I suspected the tube does not close properly at the top. So leakage happens and then its not a attractive mascara to use and I wouldn't want to risk this in my bag.

So overall the kit is good in the sense the stencils and brow cake powder are amazing and add colour to the brow with no removal during the day. I didn't like the brushes and found only the more dense side of one brush didn't shed, which was disappointing. Also the mascara just i could not see a difference enough for me as i like very bold and obvious eye lashes so if you want a light and natural look then i would think that you would like this mascara.

NADS - Facial wand Eyebrow Shaper

So the Nads hair removal systems is a Australian family owned company, created in 1992 by Sue Ismiel. Created an effective natural, no heat way in which to remove hair.

Its ethos being

Nad’s always uses the very best ingredients from sources as close to nature as possible, and invests in extensive research to ensure the best quality products for both men and women!

Nads - Facial wand Eyebrow Shaper

So i don't know if I'm the only one who has a total aversion to tweezing my eyebrows, i hate the constant having to go in and pull every hair out especially those ones that over grow and end up being eye wincing.  Plus you have to wait until they grow to a certain length to be able to get a good purchase on them. Now i have used the pre-waxed strips before and ended up with either wax stuck on me or a eyebrow stippled with blood. Now I've looked at the Nads brow shaper and thought wow that looks great, as i can apply the gel using the pen applicator and be confident in only getting which hairs i want off.
The kit comes with cleansing wipes to clean the area so the gel fixes to the area properly, then there is the pre-filled pen and the strips in which to affix and remove.

So the pen has a slanted tip to assure precise application to the hair on the brow, then you have a pack of re-usable strips. So you have to click the bottom of the pen and by the 20th click the gel will start dispensing. So i first sat down and looked at the line in which i wanted my brows to follow and also the hair i wanted to remove. Then i cleansed with the wipes and applied my first line of gel ( i did have everything laid out plus extra baby wipes incase i needed to wash any off ) then you rub the strip on leave a minute to set in and hold the skin taught and then pull it off in the opposite direction. So after i did the first strip and looked at how much hair came away i was surprised, there was the gel on the strip with the hair and also no rash nor irritation from the process. So i proceeded to do the rest and the other brow. Now what i love is that its easy to mirror both sides evenly as your doing sections rather then one by one. So it took me 5-10 minutes rather then 30-40min. Also its easy to remove excess gel with a wipe or warm water, the baby wipe did just fine for me. Plus your not left with a tacky feeling on your brows. Now if the gel feels like its becoming to stiff and globby you simply rub it between your hands and it warms it up to keep using.

My brows before and After

So as you can see from the before and after how well the hair has been removed, now i have defined my brows with a powder as i do but i think it shows up how clean the line is. The strips have made the lines cleaner my skin is smooth also. It was pain free to an extent but it was simply a case of ouch and over. I didn't feel it hurt more then tweezers, plus id prefer to do this every 6 weeks then pull them one by one.
Plus the strips are reusable, so i would get about 3-4 uses out of this which is a bargain.

So the legs are the next on the list as well hairy Mary is not the word for it but it will show the definite before and after better.

So have you tried Nads hair removal systems ? How do you shape your brows ?

Where have i been ?

Many of us use makeup as we have a passion or or it is nessesity of our daily life. For me it is a mixture of things. It is one of those ...
