Anastasia beverly hills : Self made Eyeshadow palette

Anastasia beverley hill's is a brand ive really been excited to try. When I saw this palette for sale I jumped at it. Id like to try the shade's enclosed and compare them against some of my favourite's eyeshadow brand's.

Overall opinion

I love how versatile this palette is, with enough neutral and shimmer shades to create a new look. This palette is well worth the price as it is versatile and unique, I would highly recommend.

Tartlette - In bloom palette review

I have to say this year Tarte has become one of my new favourite brands. I purchased the Christmas special release and it is an amazing palette set, in my opinion Probably the best release of the year. Now with the early launch of the new "Tartelette : In Bloom palette". My thoughts : 

I really love this palette as the shadows are buttery and blend like a dream. Its probably the best neutral set i have in my range of palettes. 

The magic moonflower look. 

I achieved this look from the card which was enclosed. Also added some added sparkle plus used the darkest colour for  more definition. It gave the most beautiful finished look, I couldnt believe it was so easy to achieve. Blendability was fantastic, fallout was minimal bar a few specks of glitter. It's highly pigmented and i would recommend to anyone wanting a fantastic neutral palette.

Now I've been so impressed with the skincare, i wanted to see if the makeup was as good. Eye makeup is my main focus whenever i wear makeup, as i think it can be so exciting and creative. I received a pack of eye makeup from Yves rocher and at the end of my review i will show you the look i achieved.

The eyeshadows are light in texture and buttery, applying well to the eye and adhereing to any primer with no fallout. Even the light glitter shade did not cause much concern in application and blended in well with the other colours on blending. In applying as recommended on the package i achieved a lovely deep green smokey eye, with the light green giving a beautiful lightness to the look. The black was very pigmented and only little of the eyeshadow is needed to achieve this look. I really liked the packaging and product in the way it performed. Perfect for travel and i would not hesitate to purchase any of the other shades to try. 

Mascara Volume vertige

Gives a light and pigmented application onto the lashes with no clumping. It allows for perfect placement of the mascara onto the lashes. In application and drying it was very fast, then took another layer very easily again without clumping. During the day it did not flake nor cause any irritation. On removal it came away easily and with little trouble, a very impressive mascara both on the eye and on removal. 

100% Kajal Eyeliner

100% Kajal eyeliner : Eyes highlighted in luminous colour this spring. Yves Rocher unveils the key to your powers of seduction. A creamy intensely pigmented Kajal in 6 trendy beguiling shades for a captivating look.

This Kajal is creamy and very pigmented. It can be applied from the bullet and also be applied using a brush. On the inner part of the eye i used a smaller brush, the product was creamy enough to apply like this. I used a small brush to just apply some shadow to the liner to set it, as it was so creamy. However it did not give me any indication it would transfer or not set, i just wanted to help it last longer. It is a step i would do with any cream liner. This liner can also be applied to tight line and used in the waterline. 

Eyeshadow primer

Fixing Eyelid Primer : Smoother eyelids for intense colours which stay radiant for longer. Plus eye-shadow remain's in place. Enriched with Camellia oil, this eyelid primer smoothes and fills wrinkles and fine lines.

This eyelid primer is meant to help the eyeshadows stick, plus keep them looking strong for however many hours you need your eye makeup to last. In saying that it didn't give me a very good base to cover my veins and blue tinge that i would usually find in my primer. Now this is a moisturising primer and if you don't need coverage for veins or dulling this skin colour then its amazing. I would still use this as a primer to moisturise, then use a coloured base so i have a skin colour canvas to work on. So it did fill the lines and didn't make my shadows crease which was important. So whilst I'm very on the fence about this primer, it does moisturise plus feel silky. It does need more pigment to become a firm base for ladies needing the coverage. 

Look with products

Above is the look i created using only the 4 above mentioned products. As you can see just below the eyebrow where there is a reddish tinge is, that area is where the primer needs to be more pigmented to help cover that. Other then that feedback, i can say these products do perform. They offer a silky, pigmented and quality makeup. Im quite excited to use more products from the range and see what i can achieve with them. 

MAC - Cinderella Collection

One of the most eagerly awaited for collections from MAC has been the Disney Cinderella release.  Following the hugely successful Malificent and after the comments made that it was too small, MAC certainly upped there game with Cinderella and the vast collection. Featuring new eye glosses and topped with a beautiful packaging, it was always going to be a blink and you'd miss it must have. I was very lucky that I obtained the items I wanted, the "Royal ball" lipstick being the only item i missed.

Beautifully packaged Cinderella collection 

The most beautiful of packaging being a periwinkle blue with gold edging. The Cinderella is also gold embossed with the infamous disney logo above. Its stunning and really quite breathtaking as periwinkle is rarely used and its a shame as its such a lovely colour. This is by far the best packaging I've seen from MAC since the Aquatic collection. 

Stroke of Midnight eyeshadow palette 

Eyes look entrancing in the softest browns, glimmering champagne and sparkle-flecked black of 

Stroke of Midnight.

Is a beautifully cased 6 pan of MAC must have shadows from there permanent line, with "Stroke of midnight" being the only exclusive shade. Now whilst i can see MAC having 2 palettes of shadows, including more of the blue's and beautiful shades included in the film. I can see that many women find blue there nemesis (as do i) being that it clashes with most eye colours and can look 80's if not done right. In saying that i have seen blue incorporated within duo chrome eyeshadow shades, that looks stunning and i wish they would have done this and also featured the packaging's duo chrome periwinkle as a shade also. 

Im happy i have this palette as out of all my 2 15 pan's i own, I do not have any neutral shades from MAC. So this is the perfect Neutral palette for me and perfect for travel, plus its beautifully presented. 

Beauty powder : Mystery princess 

Beauty Powder in Mystery Princess gives the face a touch of radiance for skin that seems to glow 

from within. Transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging.

Now i love compact's and will grab a collection compact if i love it as i think they are beautiful to collect. I will hit pan and then still keep the compact and boxing, as i just really think they are beautiful. Plus now pans of powder are being released i can refill them with my own personal shades. 

So onto this Beauty powder, which i will admit is not the most pigmented of all the compacts i own. It is a lovely pearl highlight with a pink tone to it. I will use this more as a highlight then an all over powder as its very shimmery, it has no fallout plus blended in very well using only a small amount. Overall for what i will use it for,  I'm very happy with the powder plus its stunningly packaged. 

Iridescent pressed powder in Coupe D'chic

Iridescent Pressed Powder in Coupe D’Chic imparts a shimmering sheen that will make you the 

belle of the ball. Transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging

So this powder is very sheer to the colour within the compact and its very hard, with even the biggest of swatches to see any pigment. However being an iridescent powder it is supposed to enhance rather then be the main product you use. So with this powder i would use it to add some shimmer to a matte blush and then blend upwards to give a slight highlight sheen to my cheek. It has the odd glittery speck when applied but i can't see if thats a top spray until i use it more. Overall it could have had a extra bit of pigment to really raise it to a exceptional product. For what I'm using it for, as i said above to boost my blushes then I'm happy with the product.

Of all the product i saw, i loved these 3 and the "Royal ball" lipstick was a beautiful shade, however this collection was really a task to find and grab hold of. I love the palette and the powders will serve the purpose's i have for them. I am now much more aware of what items i want within a collection before i buy. As I'm noticing a lot of the shades being re-promoted, So i don't want doubles if i can help it. Cinderella is a beautiful collection and I'm loving the products. 

Kat von d - Chrysalis eyeshadow palette

My first Kat von D eyeshadow palette purchase and look using the colours. I love the Chrysalis for its jewel and grey tones. This palette is part of a duo release, along with the Monarch palette. The Monarch is very much suited to this seasons pantone colour. (Marsala)

Such beautiful pigmented swatches and they are full of options for looks. Unlike a usual palette with one choice of colours, is so different and breaks the mould. So perfect for travel and multiple looks. 

The look

So the look that i created was using black milk as the base and transition. Then using Mezzanine for the lid shade and mixed a little Melancholia in the centre of the lid. Then i blend this upwards towards my outer V and within the crease. My outer V colour is Hybrid Moments, I take a small amount to press on the lid and outer part of my crease. Using the brush I blended this to connect the crease space with my lid. Then taking a small brush to finish the look, I use Lucid under the brow to define and blend any rough edges. 

This look gives a beautiful duo-chrome effect of purple and silver. Its a beautiful look to the many i will be doing with this palette. The colours are easily blendable and so pigmented, that you dont need much at all. Fantastic palette and colours. 

Urban Decay - Naked 3 Palette review

So there was hushed whispers just before Christmas, about the new Urban Decay : Naked 3 palette. A palette of pinky, rosey gold tone shades. They are the usual Urban Decay quality, creamy and buttery plus ease to blend.  It also comes with sample "sachets not tubes like usual" of all 4 shades of Primer potion.

They say ; 

Experiment with 12 never seen before (and insanely beautiful) rose-hued neutrals—from pale, shimmery pink to deep black matte with rosy red micro-glitter.

Shades ;

Strange - Matte cream 

Dust - Pink sparkle 

Burnout - Light rose golden 

Limit - Matte light Pink/brown

Buzz - Rich bronzey pink

Trick - Bronze with pink sparkle

Nooner - Darker Matte mauve

Liar - Dark bronze 

Factory - Bronze/taupe shimmer

Mugshot - Light golden/bronze with slight taupe shimmer

Darkside - Grey with mauve mix shimmer 

Blackheart - Black with red/pink shimmers 

Now this is my run-down of the shades as I saw them whilst swatching. 

So firstly Strange is a matte shade of cream which is a perfect brow highlight or inner base for a highlight shade. I use this also if I need a light colour to defuse some darker shades. 

Then with Dust which is a pink shimmer shade. It really speaks its namesake as it's literal dust. You will need a cream or sticky base to get any colour payoff or show on this shade. It's one of the most disappointing shades in the palette. 

So Burnout is where things start to pick up with a going back to Urban decays great eyeshadows. Good pigment and ease to work with.  Nice light rosey golden shade that builds well and perfect inner highlight colour. 

So the next matte shade is Limit which is a light almost mauve colour that's perfect  to transition. Having a palette with bronzes, golds and browns mix in with pinks, Limit is a perfect shade which takes tones from the shades to make them merge. I love this shade as if you want a matte day look with not heavy shimmer, then this with just some liner can look fantastic. Or even take some Nooner to the outer V to add some dimension for a variety to day matte looks. Beautiful texture like silk and blends fabulously. Glad to see some workable mattes within the palette. 

So then we come too Buzz and Trick which are two of my favourite shades within the palette. Now they are similiar but Buzz is more the brown side and Trick is more golden. They both have tints of rose under them and also very creamy to work with. They apply to the lid beautifully with very little product and effort needed. I love to pack these colours onto the lid, as the feature to make my eyes pop. Blend perfect and excellent colour pigment.

So Nooner is a darker version of limit, matte transition colour to darken the crease. Fantastic creamy and workable shade. Favourite for day time looks and just adding depth, without shimmer. 

Liar is another favourite and I know they are all shimmers, the colours are what I've been craving. They make any eye colour pop and just are amazing to work with. Liar is going into the darker rose golds with more bronze tones to add. It's a stunning colour to use as a sweep of colour, across the lid with cat flick eyeliner. Creamy and high pigmentation.

Factory is more on the Bronze with taupe infused shade and shimmer. Again a high pigment, creamy shade that is workable. Blends well and also gives you an alternative to black to do a smokey eye. I love the last shades in the Naked 3 palette, as they are much more versitable in my opinion. 

Jealous on the inner corner, Trick on the lid then Darkside on the outer V. 

The next shade is Mugshot which is very taupe on first glance. However with all the shadows, you get with different lights the changing shimmers. It's why this palette is so versatile as you can mix them with shades, featuring tones of taupe/rose/golds and bronzes.  This definatly has a golden/bronze undertone which is highly pigmented and creamy. 

Darkside is a beautiful Grey/Taupe shade and also fantastic shade to do a quick smokey eye. Just taking you inner lid with a colour of choice, then add this too the outer V and blend out add a touch of liner. Amazing colour which has no bounds. Easy to blend and high pigmentation. 

Blackheart is a black shade with red/pink shimmers through it. It's beautiful and the shimmers are very beautiful. I just wish that the red was somehow also threaded in the black shadow, to make that shimmer pop more. It's very unusual but a perfect colour for valentines, so with a red base this could make the shade pop.  I'm going to try this myself for valentines day.

So overall I really am enjoying the Naked 3 palette. I have taken a while to write this review, as I did want to check the colours fully and use them over Christmas. I managed to use them and found that I was mostly disappointed with, Dust and also Blackheart in a way. I think Blackheart would be amazing if they had made the reds more prominent within the shimmer. It's so unique and I just wish it was a bit more punchy. Other then that it's an amazing palette with workable and creamy shadows. Rose golds are what everyone has been screaming for and Urban decay delivered.
