MAC - Chris Chang

This is MAC's summer limited edition collection yet one I was highly excited for, it didnt fail to deliver. My expectations were met and the packaging is beautiful.
About : China’s most outlandish fashion designer puts an acid-soaked twist on her modern M·A·C collection, featuring a vivid kaleidoscope of cutting-edge colour, inspired by the ancient Chinese art form Kunqu. Surreal hues of Lipstick, Cream Colour Base and Eye Shadow, and uniquely designed packaging, are saturated with her signature dramatic flair.

- Lipstick in Plum princess
This is a beautiful colour and applies flawlessly to give a rich purple colour to the lips. It's perfect for summer and all the times you just want to add a little pizzaz to a look.

- Cream bases in Peony pavilion & Sockit Xiqu
These are beautiful and unlike other cream bases, super pigmented plus creamy. I really cannot wait to experiment further with them, in the form of a base for any colourful look i wish to achieve. I have so many look's planned for the next few week's, all colourfully taking on summer.

MAC - Brooke Candy collection

I admit I dont know much about Brooke candy, other then this her second MAC collection. I loved the gothic colour and packaging when I saw the pre-release and knew it had to make my collection.

About :
Fiercely independent digital sensation Brooke Candy returns to M·A·C with her feisty colour collection uniting the past, present and future of her creative spirit. Shades for eyes, lips and nails dare you to stand up and stand out. Bold, brave, unusual, unstoppable.
- Lipstick - Witching hour
Four hues of Lipstick make a boldly confident statement – two, Mind Control and Witching Hour, return for an encore performance. Formulated to shade, define and showcase the lips. Unique chrome packaging featuring a graphic black splatter with Brooke Candy’s signature.
* Amplified: cream finish
* Apply directly to lips.
This heavy darkened mix of purple and black with that beautiful sheen and cream finish, well it just called to me. I love unique bold colours, this is something I love to set my looks alive. I will either have a bold lip or bold eye's, this lipstick is for that neutral natural day to bring some life to it. It's creamy, applied like a dream with maximum opaqueness. Definitely lined with a clear wax pencil to keep sharp the definition, I must admit its really a unique shade. Perfect for a dark and light ombre lip if you need dark colours to work with.

- Bronzing powder - Golden
A subtly tinted powder that gives skin sheer colour and highlights. Perfect for enhancing skin tone for a natural, sun-kissed look or accentuating a tan. Formulated to provide smooth, even application on all skin types. Unique chrome packaging featuring a graphic black splatter with Brooke Candy’s signature.
* Contains light-reflecting bronzing pigments
* Provides a natural, sun-kissed look
* For a wide variety of skin tones
* Dermatologist tested
* Ophthalmologist tested
* Non-acnegenic
* Apply to face using a brush as desired.
Golden is one of those shade's that always gets repromoted over and over again. Its amazing for me as im so pale, however I do feel that they need to expand to cater for all skin tones. This was the only compact available in Brooke candy collection.

I do feel they could have made a beautiful deep rich purple powder blush or a duo powder with something rich to cater for the palest of us and women of colour. Im saying that I must admit the quality is so good, I'm so tempted to purchase the lipgloss as its beautiful (I never reach for gloss) and unique.

I definitely will be purchasing the lip pencil and may obtain the gloss also. So if you love the compact and dont have golden, then its perfect for a light and not to heavy bronzer. Witching hour is unique and im so happy I was able to snap it up. I will have a look via my Instagram, showing off "witching hour" and also how subtle "Golden" as a bronzer is.

MAC - Philip Treacy collection

This has been the long awaited collection i've been waiting for. The powder's are visually stunning and unique. Another beautiful collaboration.

They say :
M∙A∙C Philip Treacy represents a unique partnership – London’s leading couture hat designer collaborating with the world’s boldest makeup brand. Going back through his extraordinary career, Treacy culled inspiration from his work to create a trio of sensational headpieces that showcase the structure of the face. Paired with each hat, a collection of products that enhances the face’s most evocative features.

So the two highlight powder's i picked are a true work of art. The shade's of peach and pink, then the silver overspray. Now im not a big fan of overspray, as i'd love too see the pattern all the way through. It was like some other powder's i have and they just are too beautiful.

Blush pink highligher

Nude pink & Blush pink
High-Light Powder dusts the face in luminous champagne and light pink, each infused with a shimmer of silver that impart a subtle glow. Features an extremely blendable and velvety texture with a sheer finish.

Blush pink is a lovely pink with relfects of lilac almost running through it. The colour is amazing and the formula is very buttery, so it can leave give a powdery apperence. However using a soft brush with a light touch can help application. I really like this shade and it really is a work of art highlighter.

Nude pink highlighter

Nude pink is a more golden shade with a rosey hint to it. Beautiful for the up coming summer period. Too add when you cheeks are rosey, plus your skin is most radiant. This highlight will give a warmth and highlight to those bronze tones we love to have in the summer. Again the same buttery formula.

Beautiful collection and although they are not heavily pigmented. They give the right amount of payoff, plus colour for the lighter months of the year. The design is stunning, I openly admit I am a sucker for unique compacts too add to my collection.

MAC - Julia Petit collection

This collection is limited edition. Inspired from the well known beauty blogger and tv personality Julia petit. It was a small collection and i bought only 2 lipstick's from it. I did want to purchase the blush but it was sold out. The lipstick's are unique, one shade is not a colour i would usually go for.

Julia's blog link http://www.juliapetit.com/home/

They say :
Whether fearless and exotic or classically demure. Julia Petit’s brazen approach to style and makeup artistry, has transformed her into one of South America’s most revered lifestyle bloggers and a cult beauty icon. In her  MAC collaboration she brings the alluring women, a fantastical urban landscape of São Paulo to life with sizzling sun-kissed hues.

So the lipstick's i picked are called Boca and Aqai. Below are swatches and also me wearing Boca, which has become a firm favourite.

The packaging is the glossy black bullet with the MAC logo, then Julia's name is in gold with her signature. The less is more on a packaging i feel is best and it looks more classy.

Lipstick's in Boca and Aqai

Lipstick : Lips go from day to night and matte to satin in three modern hues. Formulated to shade, define and showcase the lips. The iconic product that made M?A?C famous. Glossy black packaging with Julia Petit’s signature in copper.

Swatches

So above are the swatches for Boca and Acai. Boca is a nude shade, that is on the light pink/coral side. It can look darker in the bullet but when applied its alot more wearable. Acai is a lipstick alot of people shy from, as it is a rich bright berry shade. It tend's to be a shade mostly seen, also used more in the autumn/winter. I find this colour will be a vibrant summer colour shade, I will love to show off.

Wearing the shade Boca

So above i am wearing the shade "Boca". As you can see its a lovely pink nude shade on my lips. I love this shade as i can never find a nude that i like or suit's me. Its creamy on my lips and last's a long time before needing reapplication. Im so impressed and cant wait to wear Acai and see how that shade looks.

MAC - Cinderella Collection

One of the most eagerly awaited for collections from MAC has been the Disney Cinderella release.  Following the hugely successful Malificent and after the comments made that it was too small, MAC certainly upped there game with Cinderella and the vast collection. Featuring new eye glosses and topped with a beautiful packaging, it was always going to be a blink and you'd miss it must have. I was very lucky that I obtained the items I wanted, the "Royal ball" lipstick being the only item i missed.

They say :

The most famous Disney princess of all inspires a limited-edition colour collection magical

enough to make all your dreams come true. Beloved for her kind heart and determined mind that

dares to dream, Cinderella envisages enough makeup shades to fill a pumpkin carriage. All

products are transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging that could

rival the most regal of gowns.

Beautifully packaged Cinderella collection

The most beautiful of packaging being a periwinkle blue with gold edging. The Cinderella is also gold embossed with the infamous disney logo above. Its stunning and really quite breathtaking as periwinkle is rarely used and its a shame as its such a lovely colour. This is by far the best packaging I've seen from MAC since the Aquatic collection.

Stroke of Midnight eyeshadow palette

Eyes look entrancing in the softest browns, glimmering champagne and sparkle-flecked black of

Stroke of Midnight.

Shades include :
Vapour
Phloof!
Omega
Quarry
Satin Taupe
Stroke of Midnight

Is a beautifully cased 6 pan of MAC must have shadows from there permanent line, with "Stroke of midnight" being the only exclusive shade. Now whilst i can see MAC having 2 palettes of shadows, including more of the blue's and beautiful shades included in the film. I can see that many women find blue there nemesis (as do i) being that it clashes with most eye colours and can look 80's if not done right. In saying that i have seen blue incorporated within duo chrome eyeshadow shades, that looks stunning and i wish they would have done this and also featured the packaging's duo chrome periwinkle as a shade also.

Im happy i have this palette as out of all my 2 15 pan's i own, I do not have any neutral shades from MAC. So this is the perfect Neutral palette for me and perfect for travel, plus its beautifully presented.

Beauty powder : Mystery princess

Beauty Powder in Mystery Princess gives the face a touch of radiance for skin that seems to glow

from within. Transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging.

Now i love compact's and will grab a collection compact if i love it as i think they are beautiful to collect. I will hit pan and then still keep the compact and boxing, as i just really think they are beautiful. Plus now pans of powder are being released i can refill them with my own personal shades.
So onto this Beauty powder, which i will admit is not the most pigmented of all the compacts i own. It is a lovely pearl highlight with a pink tone to it. I will use this more as a highlight then an all over powder as its very shimmery, it has no fallout plus blended in very well using only a small amount. Overall for what i will use it for,  I'm very happy with the powder plus its stunningly packaged.

Iridescent pressed powder in Coupe D'chic

Iridescent Pressed Powder in Coupe D’Chic imparts a shimmering sheen that will make you the

belle of the ball. Transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging

So this powder is very sheer to the colour within the compact and its very hard, with even the biggest of swatches to see any pigment. However being an iridescent powder it is supposed to enhance rather then be the main product you use. So with this powder i would use it to add some shimmer to a matte blush and then blend upwards to give a slight highlight sheen to my cheek. It has the odd glittery speck when applied but i can't see if thats a top spray until i use it more. Overall it could have had a extra bit of pigment to really raise it to a exceptional product. For what I'm using it for, as i said above to boost my blushes then I'm happy with the product.

Of all the product i saw, i loved these 3 and the "Royal ball" lipstick was a beautiful shade, however this collection was really a task to find and grab hold of. I love the palette and the powders will serve the purpose's i have for them. I am now much more aware of what items i want within a collection before i buy. As I'm noticing a lot of the shades being re-promoted, So i don't want doubles if i can help it. Cinderella is a beautiful collection and I'm loving the products.

MAC : Lightness of being Collection

The first post of 2015 and its showcasing the newest MAC collection. Now whilst it does have some glittery editions, plus i stayed away from the lip products. Im really happy with what i bought.

They say :
Open yourself to a new lightness of being with a free-spirited collection of uninhibited, poetic shades inspired by whimsical flights of fancy. Liberate yourself from darkened tones and explore the freeform movement of frosted lavender, pearlized champagne and pale mint green.  Shimmer elegantly in our new Mineralize colours for eyes and cheeks. Welcome to expressive colour for the modern spirit.

Featuring 2 Blushes, 2 Skinfinishes, 6 Eyeshadows, 5 Rich Lipsticks, 2 Eye pencils, 5 Mineralise glass, 2 Studio Nail lacquer, 3 Brushes.

Packaging

So the mineralise packaging has a half glossy/half matte box. Its very simple chic and not over the top, I really like the new and improved style.

Mineralise Skinfinish in Perfect topping

Now i was really unlucky to miss this when it came out first. Then decided to not obtain the last release as it wasnt the same formula. When seeing these swatches, even though nothing will rival the original beautiful perfect topping. This edition seems to be more to my tastes, i would just like to see more marble and lavender. Which hopefully will be present when the pattern goes down a little.

I love the pattern and the finish is beautiful. Peachy golden highlight with a beautiful feeling and effect on the skin. I really am glad i purchased this edition.

Mineralise Skinfinish in Lightscapade

Now lightscapade is a permanent fixture from the MAC collection. I do love how this pattern and collection suit the product. However i am for collections to bring something new to the table. I dont however mind these 2 Skinfinishes, as i feel the eyeshadows are beautifully unique. I love the new packaging but would love a little clasp, like on the blush to open it better. However the pattern and finish are stunning.

With its beautiful mix of lavender and golden tones, lightscapade has a beautiful pearly-light golden finish. Beautiful subtle highlight or can be also used as a inner eye highlight. I love these 2 new additions to my collection.

Mineralise blush in Please yourself

This was the only blush i wanted out of the 2 available. As its a beautiful pink with  hints of sparkle. Now its glittery apperance may put some people off. I would only wear this with all matte face products, to let this blush really be shown to its fullest.

As you can see in the swatch, its a lovely berry pink colour with hints of shimmer. It will look beautiful in spring with the lovely hints of colour bursting through. Its a beautiful, highly pigmented blush. A welcome addition to my MAC family.

Free sample : False Lashes mascara

This is the first MAC mascara i have had to try. Im currently using a travel mascara, that i want to finish before i try a new one. Once i do try this mascara, i will add an update as to how it performed.

Overall this collection was alright. The eyeshadows i saw were beautiful. However this collection is heavily shimmer based, if your not keen on shimmer then i would check your local MAC to see the products.  The skin-finishes are beautiful and im so glad i purchased these. Even though "Perfect topping" is a repromote and "Lightscapade" is a permantant fixture. They are beautifully presented within the mineralise packaging, also with the patterned embossing of the powder. This is also the same for the mineralise blush. Im very happy with the added additions to my collection.

Did you purchase anything from this latest MAC collection ?

MAC - Viva Glam Rihanna (lipgloss)

So my second post is regarding the lipgloss, that accompanies the lipstick from viva glam. It's beautiful and truly a unique shade.

They say ;
Rihanna's frost blue-red in M∙A∙C's much loved Lipglass formula. Wear it alone or with a Lipstick. The full R.R.P less V.A.T from the sale of this lipstick and lipglass goes towards helping women, men and children everywhere affected by HIV/AIDS. Limited-edition, soft-touch red packaging features RiRi's signature.

Packaging :
Again the packaging is a darkened red cap, which has a applicator attached to apply the gloss. It's beautiful as the clear half you can see the strawberry gloss with its sparkles glistening.

Lipgloss :
The lipgloss itself is not overly heavy and can be applied thinly, to just give a sheen on the lipstick. Also can be built up to give more colour and shine, to really make the tiny glitters noticeable. I don't usually wear lipgloss, however most of my collection would look amazing paired with this.

Overall :
I'm so happy that I could purchase the Lipstick and the lipgloss from this edition of Viva glam, before they sold out. I think the colour and feeling of the products are lovely. Plus they are so beautifully unique in the colour and mini glitters. Really will be beautiful to wear these in summer or the gloss for spring.

Even with all that being said, this is a worthy cause. I'm happy to contribute towards the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Where have i been ?

Many of us use makeup as we have a passion or or it is nessesity of our daily life. For me it is a mixture of things. It is one of those ...
