Essie - Wild nudes collection

Essie’s NEW Wild Nudes Collection are nature inspired and perfectly neutral. Become one with the outdoors with the wild nudes collection. These four rich crème colour shades are a permanent addition to the essie core range to add to the popularity and demand for essie nudes. These edgy shades are a modern take on a neutral palette.

Bare all with these scantily clad shades:
Bare with me: You’ve got nothing to lose but your inhibitions in this apricot tone with grey cast

Exposed : Show your true colours to the world in this shade of mossy green with a slight white overcast

Clothing optional (hero shade): This sumptuous shade of lighter sienna brown covers all the essentials

Winning streak: it’s no sin to win. This shade of dark purple with a greyish tone loves to get your streak on

Choose neutral shades with a distinctive point of view with the essie wild nudes collection.

I have to say the packaging of this collection was so beautiful, then it made me excited to see what the shades would be like. I was not disappointed at all with these lovely wild nude colours. They are pigmented even with one coat, apply flawlessly and dry with a beautiful true to shade colour finish. They are versatile shades that can be mixed with other shades from Essie, to brighten or have a neutral look depending on the event your attending.

As the sun was shining I decided to do some nail art, taping off half the nail then using each shade having the glitter tip to really pop the colour. I love the effect and was impressed by the longevity of this collection with no chips or need to touch up the polish. Fantastic collection and this is the first part of my Essie series. I will have a review and more nail art with the vibrant new Gel Couture shades plus highlight four of the treatment polishes for brittle nails with tips on great nail health.

Stargazer Cosmetics

Stargazer has a large selection of products that fit all needs of the makeup industry. So if your a beginner or pro, they cater for all. I love there pigments and bronzer, so im excited to move up using more special Fx products.

Stargazer was established in 1978 with the opening of a stall in the Great Gear Market on the Kings Road London. Kings Road was the centre of the punk fashion in London at the time, and it was this attitude towards colour and outrage that moulded many of the company’s ideas behind the ranges we produce. We are still based in the UK.
We have expanded our product range considerably, in an effort to offer our customers a wide range of cosmetics and hair colouring products with a wild, colourful and in your face feel to them. Stargazer now is sold across the world- so grab your Stargazer products today and be part of the Stargazer colour.

Wet Cover colour is a Theatrical make up that is applied with water. The strong colour pigment is very long lasting Theatrical quality colour for hold under hot lights and difficult situations. The colours can be blended together for further shades is ideal for flat areas and is also suitable for all styles of body and face painting.

These colours are water activated body paint. I picked these colours as i have a Harley Quinn and Enchantress look planned.

Tip : Roll the brush so the excess water comes out in the pan and wont water down your opaqueness.

I primed and moisturised my face as normal and let them dry before application. You can use them with makeup brushes, they will wash clean just as easily. So i got my brush slightly wet and then mix within the pan to get an opaque colour. Then i took the paint and brushed it on, I used a makeup sponge to blend the lines and also give the dry raised skin texture. (Harley Quinn has bleached her skin to be like her love Joker "Mr J", so i imagined it would be dry and almost paint peel like.)

I used half the pan of Wet colour in white to obtain this effect, by stippling the sponge over the drying paint. It takes a few minutes to dry, also the paint in the pan dries so keep the brush moving. Also add more water and keep your brush wet.  I have Red, Pink, Black & White. I used small artists brushes to do detail work. I swapped the Red for an eyeshadow as it was coming up more of a russet red then a blood red. Harley Quinn is very much blood red and using the black for detailing was very easy.

I found the Wet colours very easy to use and whilst this look took me a while to plan and do, i think the time taken gave me a really good result. I think the wet colours are very multifunctional in there ability to be mixed and the vast selection. I only need 4 shades to do looks which are very different, Harley Quinn has had many different looks and i really hope to do most of them. The above is inspired from the new Suicide squad movie cast picture. I am loving the more artistic side of this makeup and cant wait to experiment some more.

NB : *My eyeliner, eyeshadow's and lip colours will be reviewed separately*

Whats to come for 2014

So the beauty industry has given us some impressive products for this year. Now the summer collections are showing amazing arrays of colour. I'm so excited to show you what I will be reviewing over summer. It will be a mix of hair, makeup and skincare etc.

So I was so blessed on my birthday, that I want to share the presents I recieved and why I love them. So above is the new Dior addict - IT mascara & IT liner. These are beautifully packaged and they were released along with the new Dior Fluid stick lip product. Which are being raved about, so I may have to purchase a colour to try. So many thanks to my friend Nicki for this beautiful gift. So I will be showing my new presents & makeup storage etc.

I'm also planning to do some looks featuring these beautiful Eldora lashes. I haven't had a chance to use them, however I'm so inspired by summer.

Now I've also been so amazed with beauty products from the USA. I have bought a mix from different companies to review. BH cosmetics palettes to show you looks from. I also have Wet and wild, Milani, Jordana, Tarte etc.

I will be doing reviews on items I have already and not buying a lot of new collections. There is only two collection's I will be purchasing from and that's the MAC Simpson's & Moody blooms. They are stunning collections.

So I will be doing more looks too using my collection so far. I used my Urban decay Glinda palette for this look, with also a hair do using some new hair jewellery. I will be doing a seperate review for the new hair accessories I have purchased to use. So I'm really excited for summer and hope that I will spark a new and fresh take on some beloved products.

Selfridges Summer Beauty Box Review

So Selfridges with its iconic and majestic store, once again released another Limited edition box and these are such a bargain for the one off price. Yes its £25 plus the additional to post yet your getting a RRP of £70 worth of product, they are high end with amazing sizes. I think they may aim it at being a regular quarterly release as they do so well. Now the Summer beauty box was being hailed as having 9 beauty must haves for the summer and city escapes.

Again i have amazing friends who help a friend in beauty need when she needs it. So thank you my dear lovely friend. As i seem to have the worst luck that all the deals come out on the week before I'm paid. Now i should know this by now and put some aside. As this box really is worth the £25 price tag in my opinion.

Selfridges - Summer beauty box

So the Contents are :

  • Aqua Splash Tangle Teezer

  • Models Own Neon Nail Varnish

  • Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray 50ml

  • Molton Brown Blissful Templetree Shower Gel 100ml

  • Caudalie Beauty Elixir 30ml

  • St. Tropez Instant Glow Face Lotion 50ml

  • Jane Tran Hair Clips

  • Erborian BB Cream 12ml

  • Lancaster After Sun 40m

  • St. Tropez exclusive in-store offer card

  • Aqua splash Tangle Teezer and Jane Tran hair clips

Full sized tangle teezer which ive been dying to try for ages as my hair mattes like mad, due to the humidity and the sheer amount of product i use.  So i cannot wait to read the info to properly use it.
Now i really love these neon Jane Tran hair clips as they are summery plus they are perfect as I'm forever loosing my hair clips or they are small, bad quality ones that snap with my thick hair.
So these will add a lovely pop of colour over the Summer period.

St Tropez Glow face lotion, Bumble and Bumble Surf spray, Lancaster After sun
    St Tropez In-store Offer card

So this section i have placed the tanning and hair care really within the box, so the St Tropez card is an offer running in-store to have a tan, present this card then you will be given some St Tropez goodies. Will be passing this onto my sister in law as i cant leave the house to have tanning treatments, so I will use the St Tropez gradual face tanner to help give me a warmer glow, seeing that I'm housebound and pale as casper the friendly ghost this will be a welcome treat to use over the coming weeks. As will the Bumble and Bumble Hair surf spray, as this is being raved on the bloggersphere, to add texture and that beach looking light curl look. Now my hair is naturally curly so i don't need a lot of this when i apply, a spray with my usual hair serum gives me a lovely loose curl look.

Erborian BB cream and Caudalie Beauty Elixir

So Erborium is a company i know only though just passing mentions, Korean brand so home to the birth of BB creams. Im happy its a Korean BB cream as it will be doing what it was planned for and not just a tinted moisturiser, with heat and humid weather the last thing you need is full coverage makeup sliding off your face. So I'm excited to try this one plus has a SPF of 25.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir looks like a really refreshing spray to use for hydrating the skin in summer to prevent skin damage. Its a well known brand to me and i like this, plus the smell is really nice. So again i will be using this as I'm loving hydrating toning mists.

Models Own Nail polish and Molton Brown Temple-tree Shower-gel

Finally no more winter inspired Nail polish colours, you might think I'm mad raving about a neon pink polish but really, i was either getting dusky pinks and dark reds in every beauty box over winter, so its become the main colour i own in my polish collection. Now thats not a bad thing but id love new bold and bright colours to try. Plus being a Models own polish, if it is good i know its affordable to me when i want to add to my collection.

Molton Brown is a lovely company that offers some of the most innovative and luxurious bath and shower oils I've had the pleasure in trying. They also now do Perfume scents with other accessories and  products  to make the art of relaxing a pleasure to be part of. By that i mean that this is for one of those days you need a big old bubbly bath or hot shower to relief the aches and pains, candles and maybe additional needs to the mix. There bottles are perfectly proportioned and i also love the colours of the product its-self. This vivid blue reminds me of a tropical sea.

So i love this box and you get to see them before you buy, which is the major bonus as for £25 plus the postage on top. They are not cheap, but if its products you are wanting to try or needing then when you added up just the Tangle teezer price alone, then thats half the boxes price already.
I could not be happier with this selection and really hope they continue to release them (not the goody bags as they were a fail to many people) as these boxes you know are brands which will add a little bit of a tingly feeling when you use them.
Plus its perfect if your going away as the sizes are enough for a weeks holiday plus what more could you need when your over there ?

So did you grab a Selfridges Summer box ? Have you tried any of the boxes previously released ?

    Where have i been ?

Many of us use makeup as we have a passion or or it is nessesity of our daily life. For me it is a mixture of things. It is one of those ...
