W7 - New for spring 2014

So W7 is a brand of affordable makeup that I really enjoy using. I love the box powders especially and can't wait for the release of "Honey queen". They have just released some new products for eyes, lips and face. Also introducing real hair lashes. I've split the review into sections, so I can give an in depth.

Chunky eyes review 

So there is an endless choice of eye bases within the beauty world. I was very happy to see Chunky eyes. They are affordable. I love the colours in the range so far, hoping they release more options. 

Chunky eyes ; Cappuccino 

Chunky eyes are as good as the eye bases currently on the market. They are pigmented and butter soft sticks of colour. I use this as a base then set it with an eyeshadow, as a casual daily eye colour. You could use as your eye colour, set with a translucent powder so it can last. Very handy for travelling with being so compact. The shades I recieved are cappuccino and mocha. Cappuccino  is a dark bronze/gold mix and absolutely stunning. I would use this with my smokey bronze looks, as it really will make golds and taupe shades pop. 

Chunky eyes : Mocha 

Mocha is a lighter rose gold/bronze and the perfect base for daily/night out looks. Just shaded with some light chocolate brown. The options in which to use these are endless. The chunky eyes are so multifunctional, I will be looking for the other colours to purchase.

Get real lashes review 

So with the eyeshadows completed,you may require some lashes. W7 have released a new range called "Get Real". Made from real hair to get that natural look. They seem very light and also look so soft. So I wasn't expecting much, however they are really good lashes. The glue included is so strong, plus turns blue on contact with the lash. Also the band is  sturdy so you can apply the glue. They are easy to apply,to blend with your own lash using mascara. Light and natural finish for the day or add volume for night.

Here I am wearing the Chunky eyes in cappuccino, using a light dust of eye shadow to set it. Then using the Get real lashes to add some volume. I did not apply mascara, as I wanted to show the initial appearance when applied. 

Chunky lips : Scandal 

Chunky lips review 

Chunky lips I would say is the same principle, as the lip crayons in the beauty market. Same packaging as the chunky eyes for easy application. These are also creamy and highly pigmented. They are very nice on the lips giving a hydrated, non heavy or sticky feeling. 

Chunky eyes : Delicious 

They are very vivid colours, perfect for the spring/summer season. I the love Chunky lips colours I was kindly sent. I will also be buying more colours, on the release date. As you can see the pigmentation is fantastic. 

Honolulu box powder review 

Now we move onto "Honolulu" box powder, which is beautifully presented. I love box powders as they are different. The pigment on this bronzer is beautiful and not muddy/reddish looking. It comes with the softest brush, which I now use to contour. I found the powder was easily blendable, giving a soft warm bronze finish. I would always buy this now, Instead if the more expensive variety. I can't wait to purchase them all. 

Overall impression

So my overall impression on W7's new additions are really positive. I love the Honolulu box powder, so I'm excited to purchase the rest in the range.The Chunky eyes are fantastic quality and affordable. Again il be sticking with these bases, hoping they release more colours. The Chunky lip crayons applied to the lips were so creamy. They have a lovely finish, which helped my dry lips look a lot better. The formula didn't make my lips feel heavy, nor leave a sticky finish. Perfect for travelling, as the are easy to fit into a makeup bag. The lashes were soft and easy to use, they felt secure as the glue is so strong. The lashes give a boost, if you want a more natural look. So W7 are releasing some amazing additions. 

I am going to do a second part to this review, which will feature face products. (Primer, foundation, box powders etc). Then a review featuring my  "In the buff" palette.

Kiss lashes : Double pack "Wink" review

So Kiss lashes are not new to me and I've used the single packs before. They are ideal for beginners learning the art of lash application. I was kindly sent a double pack to review. 

They say ; 

Made with premium quality, natural hair these lashes are lightweight and reusable; add them to your everyday beauty regimen. The enclosed applicator makes them so easy to put on and this convenient double-pack is added value for the Lashionista!  

So this double pack comes with applicators, which do assist in really pressing that fiddly inner corner down. I have shakey hands so this really does help in maintaining the lash in place. Also with getting it as close as possible to the lash line.  The glue included also still changes colour to help you gage the application. If you need longer to place your lashes then this is helpful and also gives you a idea of when to apply. When they are at there most tacky you can apply then adjust. Which is a bonus for me as I can't apply lashes under pressure, also find waiting for glue to become tacky tedious. 

This double pack is also longer lashes so I did have to cut mine back. As they hit my glasses and looked un-natural. So a little trim was all they needed and the length is perfect. If you want long lashes for a night out, then the double pack can serve as a day and night pairs. So all in all this is a brand I still love and helped me in my lashes journey. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to perfect there skill and have comfy lashes. Also they are so comfy and the right band size, you won't even notice they are on.

Eldora lashes Review

Eldora lashes are a company whom are a master of there trade, after being accepted to review 3 sets of there lashes I just was ecstatic. I will be doing a individual review of each set to show you how they look applied and also what I would use them for. I myself have only being using lashes a short time.

They say at Eldora lashes ,

Believe me that's true, you may go on lash haul like I'm going to do after seeing them. 

They have a vast selection so if you haven't put lashes on, then a YouTube makeup artist can set you on your way. This is how I learnt my tips and tricks.

As it is tricky however, its like anything practice makes perfect. So the lashes I was kindly sent to review were

These lashes have a pretty thin spine (the curve part that will applies to your lid) and natural looking hair layout. They add a extra omp to my natural lashes. I found them to be comfortable and easy to apply. The glue is the kind that goes from white to blue, which helps to show you its ready to apply. I found these were easier to apply with tweezers (if your just starting get plastic eyelash holders) I am thinking of investing in a lash applicator for ease, when I purchase more lashes. Also i think it will stop the glue running into the hair if you squeese to much glue. I liked these lashes so much, as I found they looked really amazing with a natural look. As they blend to your natural lashes with no trouble at all, plus being the same length you can trim them without making the design change. 

                                                                                                                                  

 I didn't need mascara, as I personally find mascara just clumps my lashes together. I would use a clear mascara if my lashes are needing to be separated. However I've never needed to and my natural hair is very dark, so these are a two thumbs up.

 Im loving these H125 lashes and they are on my list to repurchase again for a natural look.

So these lashes as you can see have a thicker amount of hair by the spine and look softer plus almost over-lapping. They are very easy to apply and I think its because the spine is slightly larger and the spines less fiddly to handle. With any big lashes you may feel a little odd like you can see the lash in your line of sight. You can just slightly curl the tip of them too elevate this feeling which isnt unpleasant it's just distracting at times,  just takes a little bit of adjustment as its a new experience for you. 

Now with a bold eye look can be tempting but I find just a blend of a colour to the lid with then a bold lip really does set these lashes off. I used mine with a cream eyeshadow then packed on a darker colour to the V of my eye, blended together slightly. A thin layer of eyeliner and then lashes applied and curled if need be. Adding a bright lip colour will make these lashes pop, as the eye colour is not overly bold. Which keeps the balance and ensures it wont take away from the detail of the lashes. 

I prefer this balanced look , as you want them to look as natural as possible. So from head on I don't think they are that noticeable but from above you can see. 

I would defiantly recommend the B178 for a night out or special occasion. Plus when they come to the last few uses you could trim them to decorate and have for an artistic-bold look.

So these beautiful lashes I have yet to do a look book on as I have a Halloween look I'm saving these for. However they are calling me to use them, so I think I may have to do a look this week.

Haute couture Lashes -

So Lashes have always been a bane of mine and something i find quite tricky, as i will tend to buy ones that are sparkly and glitterific yet forget you need to walk before you can run. So I've made it my mission to learn how to apply lashes better and use them as i think if done nice they can really set the eyes alive and who doesn't want more lashes ? So this and improving my liquid liner skills are 2 hotspots on my makeup tutorials list this year. 

Now i was kindly sent some Haute Couture lashes to review, i wanted to review these as they have a applicator which really seemed quite handy to me if your a novice and want to know how to get into the tighter areas to make sure the lash adheres well to the lash line.

Haute couture Lashes

So on looking at the lashes they are curled and luscious looking, the spine is not too bad on them. I would suggest thinner if you don't like the feel of something on your eye. I did find after a while i didn't notice it and you could curl them or just get a shorter set, as its literally the flutter you can see. I would say these are a going out lashes or ones you would use say if on a date and you want your eyes to be your main focal point.

Now application, I found the lashes easy to remove from the packet, as i have used some before and they have been stuck on so well they kink as you try to remove them so these didn't. The adhesive is underneath, affixed to the packet and the tube has a spatula applicator. Now the amazing thing about this is that most adhesives are clear so you cant see if you have covered some bits and you don't want your lash to hang off halfway through the night. Now the adhesive when it hits the lash turns a light blue to let you know where its been applied to and which bits you may have missed. I like the spatula as its easy to control the amount of adhesive, your in control rather then a squeeze tube that can easy dispense too much.

Now when the adhesive is applied take the little pink tweezers and pick up the glued lashes (i glued mine whilst i held the lash as i didn't want them to fall from the tweezers with adhesive) the glue should be slightly tacky, by the time you do this and they get to your lash line they should be. If you place them where you want them and i found it easier to get a swing circular mirror, or any mirror you can have underneath your eye as your looking down. Apply the lash and i found another tip, to apply them in the downward angle your looking down, as they curve and will find the natural curve of your lash line approaching it from this way.(hope that made sense, if you would like a step by step pic tutorial comment below and il do that for you all)  I found i could see where it curved to my eye and i got it in one go. So if your on youtube i found some great lash tips.

Then use the tweezers to lightly press the corner in and then the outer side, if your happy with the placement. Leave to dry then apply some eyeliner to the inner corner so the lashes look more natural to the lash line. I didn't apply mascara as i think they are dark enough and enough of a statement for me, but by all means apply some, i would  apply if i was using a smaller, natural lash.

So i think i will definatly be purchasing more of these lashes as they have the right size spine for me to be able to control without being flimsy. I can use the adhesive and i like the way it goes blue on contact with the lash, so no loss of lash during the day. Im really impressed with these and as my look above shows the finished result.
